JEFF TWEEDY OWES ME $50

A couple years back when the band WILCO released their excellent cd SUMMERTEETH they announced two dates for Los Angeles. I was very excited and purchased two tickets for the second night.

The first night show got great reviews so I was psyched to see them the second night; however, that was not to be. WILCO canceled due to Jeff Tweedy's mom being ill. They said "don't worry we'll be back". They never came back as far as I know and I never collected on tickets. Thus WILCO still owes me $50.

That being said...I still can't wait to see them tomorrow night at Popejoy Hall. They are one of my favorite bands. I do plan to rush the stage though and collect my money from Jeff so if I do not report back I could probably use some bail money.

I can highly recommend the SUMMERTEETH and SKY BLUE SKY cd's by WILCO. I love and recommend their entire catalog actually.

Also of note is the new cd BRIGHTER THAN CREATIONS DARK by DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS

Suggested downloads include TWO DAUGHTERS AND A BEAUTIFUL WIFE, SELF DESTRUCTIVE ZONES, DADDY NEEDS A DRINK, THE HOME FRONT and the exceptional THE RIGHTEOUS PATH.

I'm out.

I think I'm developing a serious blog-crush on you. Most of my friends think my attachment to the Drive By Truckers is pretty inexplicable....

Hey thanks Jay!! I'm very psyched to get to see the Drive-by Truckers having only recently discoverd them. I found this great place up in Santa Fe that brings lots of alt.country bands in. Check out Santafebrewing.com.

Last night Mason Jennings and Bret Dennen played but I was not able to make that show -- found out too late. Next up though, The Derailers, Drive-by's and Reverend Horton Heat to name a few.

I'm out.
