Desert of Color
The day after witnessing the sun set on the Grand Canyon we headed to a very unique national park: Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert.
Located east of Winslow, Az near Holbrook, AZ the park is best viewed around sunset when the suns rays shine on the various land formations creating amazing images.
We were fortunate enough AGAIN to see the sunset.
"(...national parks are) the best idea we ever had. Absolutely American, absolutely democratic, they reflect us at our best rather than at our worst." -- Wallace Stegner, writer and historian.
"There ought to be a law against anybody going to Europe until they had seen the things we have in this country." -- Will Rogers
