A few years back it was suggested to New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson to dig up the grave of William H. Bonney aka Billy the Kid to verify that he is actually buried in the grave in Fort Sumner, NM.
Not wanting to lose the powerful tourist dollar, he declined.
A new group wants proof of his death by Pat Garrett and this time they are going to court:
